I know that many people feel the pledge of allegiance is an important thing and that all schools should recite it each day like they used to. If a school does recite the pledge, it is the right of the students to opt out and either remain seated or stand silently. However, with the phrase "under god" in the pledge, it crosses the line for separation of church and state. Remove "under god" and affirm that the pledge is about our country, not a god that some of us believe in.
