consider subsidizing more vegetables and decrease the subsidization of corn to reduce obesity.

Created by N.T. on February 24, 2014

The amount of money that the government spends on corn subsidies is outrageous. This allows many products such as chips, sodas, french fries and pretty much just junk food to be sold so cheap that the citizens in this society see this as the best food available. Since a handful of the government subsidies are going into the production of corn; the price of vegetables is much more expensive. The overpricing of vegetables and the apparently low priced products of different forms of corn are contributing to the overwhelming problem of obesity. If the government were to spend less on corn subsidies and focus more on subsidizing vegetables to decrease its costs, then the majority of US citizens would probably purchase more vegetables and craft a healthier future for our young children.
