Consider Thorium as an alternative to Uranium as a viable nuclear energy, and provide funding for research.

Created by A.B. on March 14, 2014

Thorium is an extremely abundant element that has the potential to create vast amounts of energy. It's cheap, safe and better yet doesn't yield nearly as much radioactive waste, and what is produced can't be weaponized. It can even be created in more manageable reactors, small enough for personal use. It may sound too good to be true, but when it is, why not try it? Much more research needs to be done and starting with national recognition we can propel the USA into the future by becoming energy efficient as well as environmental pioneers.
