The below petition is to create a platform for collaboration regarding gun safety
1) Require all gun owners and those purchasing a gun to complete a gun safety class...to be administered by the NRA
2) Provide start up funding for an NRA gun safety and usage training class to be funded through an appropriations bill for 1-2 years
3) To have ATF be the auditing body to ensure gun safety courses and monies spent meet protocol to ensure safe and responsible gun usage
4) To allow NRA to charge user fees for training after gov't funding expires
This bill is designed to not create a new government program but to use existing agencies--to give NRA the ability to demonstrate responsible ownership to minimize unsafe gun usage and gun violence.
