The US Military needs to consolidate operations into one unit rather that the disbursed operations of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine units. Rather than focus on base realignment and closure (BRAC) activities to save money, the military needs to adapt to the 21st century and have TWO units - the US Armed Forces and the US Military Technology branch.
The future will be to put into place combat (Armed Forces) and non-combat (Technology Forces) to separate out the people put in harms way to protect our country and the surveillance and activity of the 21st century technology machine forces (air, water, and terrestrial drones and supporting technologies).
This will save billions of tax dollars, save lives of our servicemen, and reduce the redundancy and problems of overlapping command.
