To truly be a country for and by the people, every vote should count equally. The electoral college system goes against this ideal. Our elections have been decided against the popular vote due to this system. The electoral college is an antiquated part of the constitution that should be repealed and replaced with a pure popular vote. A constitutional amendment is needed to do this, is a huge undertaking, and is completely worth the work to continue building a more perfect union.
