4. Running it as an international space station to foster better relations with other countries.
5. Create a much more efficient means of asteroid defense.
6. Would offer a very clear picture of what life may be like in the event of extraterrestrial habitation.
7. In an extreme scenario would be operational as an anti-nuclear option.
