We petition the Obama Administration and United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to ask the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to allow the sport of Capoeira as an Olympic event. Capoeira, according to Wikipedia, is “a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music, and is sometimes referred to as a game”. Capoeira is an international art that requires great physical ability, a sport that teaches restraint and is a perfect sport for fufilling the Olympic's mission: to unite all countries. We believe that it deserves a spot along with the other martial arts featured at the Olympics: Taekwondo, Judo, and Wrestling.
