This petition seeks to make the government realize that the content portability is a necessity to keep free trade and our economy sound.
With the development of the cloud and technology providers forcing users onto their “eco-system” the need to regulation on content portability is required. Just like Number Portability ended the monopolistic power of telephone providers, people now need this protection from technology providers.
When one purchases an app/song from a particular provider, there is no reason why that content need reside on the seller's eco-system. As the purchaser of the content, we should have the right to fast and easy transfer of that content to an eco-system of our choice. Sign for Content Portability and end these restrictive practices.
