Currently, consumers purchasing cable or satellite television service are forced to purchase large packages of television channels. In most cases, consumers never watch the majority of these channels and don't even want to subscribe to them. However, if they wish to have cable/satellite tv service they have no choice. This has resulted in consumers overpaying for their monthly cable/satellite service to the tune of billions of dollars each year. While the rest of the economy struggles and consumers' pay barely goes up (if at all), they are forced to pay for channels they don't even want. It is time to end this ridiculous system and allow consumers to have more options and only pay for the channels they actually want.
