Continue allowing the production of 60 watt incandescent light bulbs.

Created by S.S. on January 02, 2013

Production bans have already been placed on certain types of incandescent light bulbs with plans to stop producing all kinds by 2014 in favor of the more energy-efficient LED and compact fluorescent varieties. The incandescent bulb has been a symbol of American culture since its invention by Thomas Edison nearly one and a half centuries ago. In addition to its historical value, the incandescent light provides a much warmer and more natural light than the LED or compact fluorescent bulbs, even when these are made to simulate incandescent light. This is especially noticeable in smaller and middle-sized homes. We the undersigned petition the Obama Administration to repeal the impending ban on the production of 60 watt incandescent bulbs, allowing Americans to choose the light bulbs they use.
