Conservative fear mongering has led to increasing political pressure to turn away Syrian refugees. We ask President Obama to stand firm in the face of these irrational fears, and increase US participation in international efforts to resettle refugees of all war torn areas, including ISIL controlled Syria, and Central America, as well as any new conflicts that cause people to flee in fear of their lives. We recognize that such refugees are often running from an enemy of the United States, and resolve to save as many as possible from our common enemies. Traumatized children, families, widows and orphans are not to be neglected and turned away out of a disproportionate fear of Muslims or immigrants in general. These are the "huddled masses", save the innocent refugees fleeing terror.
