In the future current U.S. frontline fighters like the f16 and f15 which are generation 4 non stealth fighters will be nothing but anti air missile fodder as will all non stealth fighters. Stealth means it can't be or is very hard to track on radar and lock onto with a missile. Stealth will be the variable that will decide the future of the USAF. China is currently developing its own stealth fighter the j20 and it is comparable to the f22 and f35 although we probably won't go to war with China, China has looser laws about importing and exporting weapons than the united states so there is a very real possibility of j20s ending up in North Korea, our arch enemy. An example of this is Russian and Chinese weapons, most notably attack helicopters, ending up in Sudan for use in genocide.
