continue proposing incentives for sustainable energy resources, including new nuclear reactors

Created by B.H. on September 24, 2011

Sustainable and independent energy production are key to the future of our nation. Although renewable power such as solar and wind can supplement base loads of energy production, nuclear power is currently the only practical option for base-load energy production.

The Fukushima nuclear disaster has demonstrated the danger in continuing to use outdated nuclear plants. Unfortunately, the nuclear industry does not appear to have sufficient motivation to replace these aging reactors, and instead receives extension after extension for operation of plants that were designed to be shutdown over 20 years ago.

We urge you to continue to press Congress for incentives to promote the construction of new nuclear power plants so we can finally decommission our dangerous, older reactors.
