Tens of millions of dollars have been spent on giving the space shuttles a grand tour before their retirement. Another petition currently exists to create an "Apollo Day" as a national holiday, which would waste more funds that could be better spent on future exploration.
The achievements of the past are meaningless if we do not continue forward into further exploration. This petition calls for funds that would otherwise be used for honoring past achievements be used instead toward funding math and science education programs or future exploration of space.
