The continuing war on poverty in our public schools!

Created by G.M. on December 05, 2016

Our group would like to petition two proposal's to help students being crushed by poverty in our public schools.

Our first proposal to correct this is to give these students better incentives in the form of offering them scholarships to college. These students could then be assigned a mentor who will work with the student to help keep them on track while also providing emotional and psychological support. These scholarships could easily be covered by colleges and while potentially boosting their graduation rates.

Our second proposal is to expand the free and reduced lunch program to also cover dinners and meals on weekends to students who are not getting enough to eat. Students can't focus if they are worried about their next meal. This will also lead to healthier brain growth in students
