To control interest rates. Standard rate for savings account is below 0.10% while credit cards are above 18%.

Created by J.G. on January 13, 2013

Interest rates on credit cards are above 18% making it impossible to pay off when on average the interest rate is twice or triple the minimum payment. On savings and checking accounts the interest rate is below .15%. Easing the credit card rate below 12% would help put more money back into peoples pockets and help ease the burden of charging. If banks don't want to ease these rates then have them increase our savings and checking account rates. Why can't we charge banks 30% for holding our money in there safes. Interest rates are out of hand and need better regulation.
