We the undersigned request that our government begins harsher regulation of the petroleum industry in the area of consumer price for petroleum products. The petroleum industry is raking in unheard of profits at the expense of the people. Since at present petroleum based products are at the core of our nations economy and the livelihood of the citizens of this country, we believe that our government should step in and control the prices of petroleum based products. There is no reason for such high price spikes in the petroleum market. Even the oil companies themselves cannot explain how prices are figured. A cap on gasoline and diesel prices should be carried out and adjusted for inflation automatically. This price cap should be placed on gasoline, diesel, kerosene and heating oil.
