Executive orders allow The Commander in Chief to overstep Congress.
During the State of the Union Address last night President Obama made it clear that he would use this power to go around Congress whenever necessary to get things done. The use of executive order not only impacts the in place system of checks and balances, but creates an environment that eliminates compromise between governing bodies.
It is important to value the necessity of bills going through all the appropriate places before being passed. The government should represent the people, and the people elect their officials to represent them.
In limiting the use of executive order it will force people from both sides of the aisle to work until an agreement is met, the way it should be.
