This petition calls upon President Obama to convene a meeting of all the parties to the Chemical Weapons Convention so that the 189 countries that are signatories are required to respond to Syria's violation and the global norm against use of chemical weapons is maintained. Military action has grave consequences. The U.S. must pursue non-military, political tools to ensure accountability for the use of chemical weapons and to deescalate the violence in Syria.
