We the people petition the Obama Administration to convene a panel of experts to propose laws and, if necessary, constitutional amendments that will improve the fairness and transparency of our elections.
Our current election process, in which each person votes for a single candidate and the candidate earning the most votes wins, has been proven mathematically and in practice to be inferior to other commonly used voting systems. In addition, many of the details of our elections such as voter registration requirements and the boundaries of congressional districts are vulnerable to manipulation. These weaknesses have led to a political system that dissatisfies and disenfranchises us.
Experts know that a few specific changes could make our elections much better. Convene them. Empower us.
