The United States of America is the only prominent country which refrains from adhering to the metric system. The metric system is efficient and thought out, as opposed to the hectic and unpredictable nature of the imperial system. While the transition might be a hassle, many other countries have successfully changed with ample government promotion and support, and, once over, the United States of America will be a part of a unified, global system of measurement.
