The United States currently uses an outdated system of units, the imperial system. This leads to many confusing conversions that at its core make no sense. Children are taught this system, therefore making subjects such as math and science more unappealing. Later on in a person's education they are taught the metric system because it is what all math and science are based upon. The U.S. is one of very few countries that dont use the metric system so it is safe to say that we are falling behind. Everyone speaks of education reform because of fears in our inability to improve students' test scores. This is not a solution to the whole problem but it is definitely a place to start. For the future of edution, the United States, and of all science we the people ask for this change. If not, why?
