Why have we not converted after using the metric system for 140 years? We are one of the only countries that uses feet, Fahrenheit, acres, furlongs, gills, inches, and miles. For example, if you ask any American how long an acre is, you will get a blank stare. The reason for that is our units of measure are a mess to remember. It makes trade, engineering, industry, science and everyday life harder than it needs to be. The metric system is easy and more accurate to work with. To be the great world super power that we want to be, we must take care of the simple things first.
