It seems a little peculiar that so many shooters are being publicized at an irritatingly sick level. Ever since the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, the number of shootings more than doubled in 2013. Already this year (as of June) we have the same number of shootings as there were last year. Imagine how many more may occur if the news and media keep giving these individuals infamy and setting the bar for the next mentally ill person. Attorney Richard Martinez, the father of one of the victims, made this very clear last month after the Isla Vista, CA shooting. Lets all petition for a commitment to stop the mass over-reporting and televising of these tragedies and giving recognition to the criminals.
