Convince the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit to dismiss Viacom's Copyright lawsuit against Google & YouTube

Created by C.T. on April 07, 2012

On April 6, 2012, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit began hearings in the recent Copyright lawsuit against Google & YouTube. It appears Viacom is gaining momentum in the case.

Although Viacom has some valid point in their case, however, if the Second Circuit grants victory to Viacom, this could greatly affect innovation because there is a potential risk that Viacom could be allowed to view personal data on Google & YouTube to see if users are watching and/or uploading their content on the site. This can be considered a massive invasion of privacy, considering that this is what Judge Louis Stanton ordered Google & YouTube to do in 2008 until the case was dismissed in 2010.

This is why we the People must stand up to Viacom before they destroy innovation.
