In today's era of education, numbers are everything: grades, class rankings, teachers' rankings, test scores, etc. This distracts from what education is all about, learning something that is applicable to the real world. These current standards have caused students to become so number hungry that they will do whatever they can to get the higher grade (in many cases this means cheating). On the other side of the issue, teachers' rankings are based on students’ test scores, when in reality teachers can’t completely control how students do; students that don't care can totally hurt a teacher's ranking even if the teacher might have provided an excellent education. Please make an effort to fix this crucial issue. After all, "Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire."
