The inaccurate and misleading summary of the Condon Report has shaped official UFO research policy on more than one continent for the last four decades.
A correction would retroactively invalidate the rationale behind the closure of Project Blue Book in 1969.
If followed by the raising of public awareness of the gross inadequacies of Blue Book, a popular movement could eventually lead to official government support of amateur UAP investigations, in principle, if not financially.
