Currently at www.whitehouse.gov/our-government/the-constitution the Second Amendment is defined as follows:
The Second Amendment gives citizens the right to bear arms.
The second Amendment, ratified into the Bill of Rights, like the others, does not give anything, it protects a natural right of an individual to protect themselves and to honor self preservation. The definition of the First Amendment on whitehouse.gov says:
...protects freedom of speech.
The definition of the Fourth Amendment says:
...protects citizens from...
Also, the second Amendment does more than protect the right of The People to bear arms, it protects their right to keep arms.
We ask that the definition on the website reflect the actual wording and meaning by using the words protect and keep.
