Many recent petitions requesting the withdrawal of various states from the United States of America have been signed by citizens who do not live in the state whose petition they have signed. Many signatures do not specify the state of the individual's residence at all.
For these petitions to accurately reflect the wishes of the citizens of the states involved, we request that only the signatures of the actual citizens of the state to which the petition applies be counted and accepted.
