Let’s place the issue of Citizens United on the national ballot so that we can once and for all defeat this legislation which proclaimed that a company is the same as an individual. We know this is not true. Let’s take back our democracy from the undue influence of deep-pocketed special interests. Let’s end the outsized contributions from corporations to political candidates that the Citizens United legislation allowed. Place a ballot issue on the 2016 Presidential election ballot stating that Citizens United is an unjust infringement of the rights of the vast majority of U.S. citizens who, being less financially well off than corporations, are not allowed equal influence in the political process and, therefore, should be amended to make clear that corporations are not people.
