In his vulgar comments, which could be viewed around the globe live and in perpetuity online, retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Ralph Peters did commit a violation of Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). His blatant contemptuous speech for his Commander in Chief not only insults the office of the president, but also tarnishes the rank he holds himself and violates Article 133 regarding conduct unbecoming an officer. This disrespect is an embarrassment to our country on the world stage, and should not go unaccounted. These articles of the UCMJ are fully applicable and enforceable despite active or retired status, especially when collecting a retirement salary. Please help restore civility and demeanor to our democracy by making an example of Ralph Peters.
