Unpaid internships continue to be a problem in America. This problem has been documented by Newsweek, The New York Times, ProPublica, and other media sources.
Thousands of corporations use these unpaid internships to make college students write content for projects and/or websites, monitor social media, develop advertising programs, and other jobs in which the companies would normally have to pay.
The Department of Labor continues to fail in enforcing federal internship guidelines, while colleges and universities allow these unpaid internships to be advertised on campus, and even facilitate the placement of students into these illegal positions.
