It is unfair to have two ages at which people are considered "adults". I am petitioning to make one clearly defined age at which you are responsible enough to have a loan, buy tobacco, gamble, have a drink, and yes, enlist in the military. If a person can not be tested enough to buy a beer, than they certainly should not be trusted enough to enlist in our military by themselves. The answer may not be to lower the drinking age, but maybe to raise the draft age and the age for all other rights. Why not turn a certain age and then be trusted with all of our rights? Whether this age is 18, 21, or something else, there needs to be one clearly defined age at which a person can be trusted with their rights and responsibilities.
