create a $1 million/year federal budget line item to pay Bill Watterson to revive "Calvin and Hobbes".

Whereas,
William "Bill" Watterson, the creator and artist responsible for the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes", is a living United States citizen; and
Whereas,
"Calvin and Hobbes" was a comic strip of nearly universal appeal, cleverly drafted and artistically rendered, the excellence of which has not been surpassed since it ceased to be published, and the absence of which has been keenly felt by all who read and enjoyed it; and
Whereas
A certain portion of the federal budget should promote the useful arts;
We the People request that this administration provide federal funding sufficient to induce Mr. Watterson to resume "Calvin and Hobbes", and to pay Mr. Watterson a salary during the period in which he continues to produce new "Calvin and Hobbes" comics.
