Create $20 Coins for Everyday Use.

Created by C.R. on May 14, 2015

Coins are well known to be more cost effective to produce than bills. Bills wear out quickly and need to be regularly replaced, but coins last decades. A common complaint about using coins is the need to carry too many around. This could be resolved by the introduction of a new $20 coin. With this, the equivalent a pocket of loose change could pay a grocery bill. One coin could be food for an entire day. After producing such a coin, the government could gradually decrease the spending on paper $20, saving money. There is also the recent call for new faces on currency. With a $20 coin the government could keep the old and familiar faces, but still introduce new and historic American figures. This would help supporters of both sides remain happy. It would also be more cost effective.
