Create 5 Million Jobs by Christmas

Created by J.F. on May 05, 2012

Create a one-year new tax credit for small businesses and corporations for hiring US workers, where the credit equals the new employee's wages. Companies may use this credit to cover up to but not exceed their total tax liability. The credit is for employees hired from June 1st through December 31st, but for those employees hired during that time frame, the credit continues until June 1st 2013.
It should be payed for by a one-year suspension of oil and gas subsidies, and minor (temporary) savings in Medicare.
On June 1st 2013, both the credit and the budget cuts will expire unless extended by Congress.
By artificially lowering the costs of labor, businesses will find it easier to hire in America, and the hiring will increase demand for goods and services further stimulating job creation
