This petition is for the United States government to create a "use tax" to be taxed on every purchase of firearms or ammunition, per weapon, ammunition clip, and bullet/round that would be earmarked for payments to victims and their families of gun violence. All taxes would be dedicated to reparations to victims of gun violence.
If gun owners want to continue to exercise their second Ammendment rights, they should do so with the understanding that gun violence costs America more than monetary value. A small tax should be levied on the small of all guns, ammunition, and clips to help us off-set the costs to survivors of gun violence and the families of victims who are murdered by those who commit gun violence.
This tax should be modest, and not exceed 10% of the cost of each item.
