create an affordable alternative to GED testing to combat the price increases privatization will cause.

Created by D.S. on May 20, 2013

GED testing has been bought out by a private company. Normally it costs thirty-five dollars for testing in a state, but those prices could climb to $250 next year.

GED testing is vital for adult individuals without a diploma looking to better their lives. It's vital for people like my sister who had problems that stopped her from attending public school. She got her GED last year. It's vital for teen mothers who may not be able to get a diploma in the conventional way.

People need a high school equivalency in order to provide for themselves and make a life in the world.

I petition the government to create an alternative program that cannot be bought out to make profits.
