Create an agency devoted solely to policing the police: conduct investigations, pressing charges and manage complaints

Currently it is the responsibility of our police force to conduct their own investigations, manage complaints against officers and press charges on themselves. Take this responsibility away from the people committing the crimes and puts it in the hands of individuals with no ties the police force. There will be no reason for this agency to look the other way to save face. This is simply a long standing American belief of checks and balances. The citizens currently have no one to turn to when they fear the very people that are responsible for their protection. Officers’ actions are a result of not having anyone to answer to and no legal consequences. Creating a “police for police” will hold officers accountable when they become the criminals and will restore a once held respect for cops.
