Many corporations have made tax evasion an art. The US has the highest corporate tax rate in the world (35%) however, the effective corporate tax rate in 2011 fell to 12.1%:

Perhaps it's time to introduce a Corporate Alternative Minimum Tax, to ensure that our "corporate citizens" "paid their fair share", regardless of their accounting tricks to minimize their tax burden.
