Create an amendment to the Constitution to impose term limits on Congressional members

Created by J.R. on December 03, 2015

A Gallup poll from 2013 found that 75 percent of Americans support limiting the number of terms that a member of Congress can serve. Let's get it done! There have been several attempts to impose these limits, but of course, this goes against the self-interest of individual members of Congress. We cannot leave this vote to Congress, but instead, the people. Congress is 80% white, predominantly male and 92% Christian. We need a better reflection of this diverse nation as it pertains to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status. I petition for 2 terms, extending no longer than 8 years in total. This is an important and monumental step in restoring the people's faith and trust in our government.
