Providing Amtrak passenger service from Oklahoma City to Memphis by way of Fort Smith and Little Rock, Arkansas will connect two major metropolitan areas in the interior of the country and provide connecting service to other major cities such as Chicago, Dallas, and New Orleans. Additionally, it will provide more transportation options for a part of the country that is severely underserved by passenger rail service.
