Create and enforce storage requirements for lawfully owned firearms to reduce theft and maintain self-defense rights.

Created by D.B. on December 19, 2012

In the interest of maintaining lawful ownership of firearms for recreation and self defense, while discouraging illegal procurement of firearms through theft, it is our belief that any new gun control legislation should not seek to ban any specific firearms or magazines, but should establish safe-storage requirements for ALL firearms when not in the care of the owner. No more than 2 guns may be considered in the owner's care at any given time, unless in use at a designated firing range (up to 5 guns), transportation to or from such a range, or during active maintenance in the home (up to 5 guns, provided they are in the same room as the secure storage area). Policy to be enforced through annual inspections by local law enforcement officials.
