In 2008, TARP was created to repurchase troubled assets (bad investments) and increase liquidity at financial institutions. The program infused fresh capital to keep our country going during a financial crisis.
In 2011-12, we are faced with a similar fate. Student loan debt has hit $1 Trillion and these troubled assets need to be cleared from the books.
We are asking the Obama Administration for a 100% forgiveness of all student loan debt encumbered before January 1, 2012. Such funds will be created through a law enacted by Congress and called the "STARP act of 2012".
STARP (Student Troubled Asset Repair Program) shall be applicable to all citizens regardless of any circumstances, requirements, or limitations of any kind whatsoever.
