Create and fund new medical residency positions. Around 7,000 new M.D.s cannot finish training. We need these doctors!

The USA will soon be short hundreds of thousands of doctors. To meet demand, Medical Schools have begun producing more Medical Doctors (MDs) and continue to add more students every year. Unfortunately, Medical Residency programs (after-graduation training all doctors must complete to be licensed) have not caught up.
This year, an estimated 7,000 MDs did not "match" or place into a residency, a number that includes international graduates. Residencies are mostly underwritten by government funds, Medicare and Medicaid, so it will take government action to correct this problem. These trained MDs- many owe $100,000+ in loans- must wait to compete with next year's graduates for available slots! This is a relatively easy problem to fix: these MDs need the opportunity to finish their training!
