We petition the drafting of a bill, signing into federal law, and allocation of funds requiring all state, county, and local police officers to wear body cameras, in order to prevent further police brutality. The reasons for this legislation are manifold. For example, since the implementation of police body cameras at the Rialto Police Department in California, there has been a 60 percent reduction in the use of force by police officers. Furthermore, there was an 88 percent reduction in citizen complaints between the year prior to and following camera deployment. Statistics like these show that implementing police body cameras is truly positive historical change.
