We need better state and federal laws the protect Active Reserve Soldiers while going to college/universities. Currently, there are no specific statue and federal laws that help protect us in this area while going on temporary duty missions, drill weekends, military training events, and annual training during the school calendar year. None of the civil right organizations, department of education, nor the VA can really do anything except advocate for better laws. It's sad that an organization needs a law to tell them to do the right thing. I urge you to contact your house of representative, state senate, governor, congressman/congresswoman, congress, Washington DC to advocate for better state and federal statues/laws to help protect Active Reserve Soldiers trying to get a higher education.
