The NCAA made $912.8 million in 2014, 84 percent of which came from one, three-week event: The Division I men's basketball tournament.
One unit -- or a payment of $239,664 -- will be paid to each school participating in each game, except for the championship game.
I would like to believe that all athletic departments in the US should be held to the same standard when competing for a championship, or even getting a shot to play in a tournament, but what is that standard?
Every year the standard changes, and the rest of the world is left wondering each year until tournament selection time. When so much money and effort is put into making these tournaments...how can a select few operating without standards dictate who gets to play and where?
The college sporting world wants transparency!
