Create Anza-Borrego Desert National Monument

Created by K.M. on June 25, 2016

When I visited Anza-Borrego state park this spring break I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape, and appalled by the condition of the park. The trails were almost never marked, resulting in confusion about where we could walk. I could tell that significant areas of the landscape were harmed by people not following the trails--though this wasn't anyone's fault. Even as a visitor, who stayed for less than a week,I can tell that this is a beautiful, unique area of historical and biological significance. I believe that this park belongs in the system of national parks and monuments, and that that is the best way to protect this land.
